MOSA Device Drivers Framework

The MOSA Device Drivers is a framework to develop modular, layered device drivers. It is a subproject of the MOSA Framework.

The framework consists of two parts: Device Drivers and Device System.

Device Drivers

Device Drivers provide an interface between the kernel and hardware components. Device Drivers communicate to hardware via IO ports and physical memory through kernel provided interfaces.

Device System

The Device System provides a framework for detecting hardware components, finding appropriate device drivers, managing access to IO ports and physical memory, and providing well-defined interfaces to hardware.
